Ovam

Ovam is an only child, born from a Klingon Diplomat who had close ties with Martok. He is a man from both worlds growing up on both Qo’noS and various locations within UFP territory. He often struggled feeling like there was no culture or group he truly belonged to. Upon his father’s urging he applied for Starfleet. A symbol that would reflect the Klingon’s friendship with the United Federation of Planets.

Ovam did really well on his exams and due to having an early interest in anatomy applied and got accepted into Starfleet Academy’s school of medicine. As a young adult he still struggled to adapt, often having issues with letting little slights go and getting into occasional fights. Despite this, he graduated.

Currently his father has gone missing, when he heard of Martok disappearing he left for Qo’noS to petition for a formal investigation, since he departed Ovam has not heard from him.

For people who do not know him Ovam comes off as stoic and direct. He is a very honest person and tends to be blunt with people when talking to them. To his patients he comes off as overbearing and to those who are in critical condition, he is warm and endearing. To his friends he is incredibly loyal and protective. Deep down he has a need to belong somewhere and for most of his life he has struggled. When he returned home to Qo’noS with his father he was often bullied by other Klingons. His short temper tended to get him in trouble in the federation when he would misinterpret innocent jests from his peers. Sarcasm tends to go over his head and he tends to take things literally. He is incredibly stubborn which makes him a great doctor but also someone who cannot be persuaded on a different course of action once he makes up his mind.
