His birth took place on the planet Mars, in the city of New Atlanta, which had been colonized by humans and had become a hub for intergalactic relations.

Aramis’s Academy career was mostly focused in starship operations, besides the general courses that were required. He graduated with high honors in the Engineering field.
Utopia Planitia Shipyards (2380 to 2382)
After graduation, Ensign Aramis Lionel’s first assignment was to the Engineering Support Division at Utopia Planitia Shipyards. He was one of many involved in the creation and construction of the current state of the art ships in service now. After two years at the shipyards, he requested and was granted a transfer to his first ship assignment, the USS Thunderdragon and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in 2382.
USS Thunderdragon, NCC-63832 (2382 to 2402)
Aramis’s first assignment on the USS Thunderdragon was as a transporter operator from 2382 to 2385.
In 2385, he was promoted to the rank of full Lieutenant and became an Assistant Chief Engineer for Captain Sophia Rodriguez on the Thunderdragon. He served well as an Assistant Chief Engineer from 2385 to 2387.
In 2387 to 2402, Lieutenant Lionel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and given the position as Chief Engineer for the USS Thunderdragon.
As Aramis served on the Thunderdragon, he became close friends with the Executive Officer Kirok Skyrunner. While then Commander Skyrunner was the First Officer, he mentored Lieutenant Commander Lionel, preparing him for possible move into the command track.
