It was early in the morning, not even 0500, the young lieutenant stood peering out the window of 10 forward looking at what was to be his new posting as Starbase Bravo came into view. Lt Wolfe had been transferred here from his previous posting on the Olympic class vessel the USS Olympic where he had served with distinction and had been promoted so he now looked forward to life on a Starbase and the prospect of new adventures.

His thoughts were interrupted by the waitress approaching and offering him the drink he had ordered, a Rigalian sunrise, he had never had one and he didn’t know how adept the bartenders on the station were so he figured what the heck let’s start this new adventure right.

An hour later he stood in the transporter room of Starbase Bravo ready for his new posting he had studied the Starbase plans so he immediately headed out of the transporter room and headed for the main command to report in with the base commander. After which he reported to his direct security commander and finished with reporting to him new quarters anticipating the next day as his first duty shift .

Early the following day Rubious was up and at the gym, he needed to get a work out in before his duty shift. After he finished an hour he made a mental note to map out a route to get his morning run in on the base cause treadmills are too boring. After a quick sonic shower and downing a protein shake from the replicator he was off to the security office to report in and get his orders for the day.

For his first duty shift he was paired with a female ensin that had already served on the base for a few months named Landry. She asked him if he was familiar with the layout of the base and he said he had memorized the bases plans on his trip there so she told him ” show me what you learned”.

He told her ” Ok, where do we need to go?”, she said they needed to do a full patrol of the lower decks so how would he suggest they proceed. They took the turbo lift to mid station and exited to begin patrol. After patrolling that deck, instead of heading to the turbo lift to go down a deck, Rubious headed to a Jeffrey tube entrance and climbed in and before the young ensin could protest he looked back at her and said ” can’t say we did a proper patrol with out checking the Jeffrey tubes too.” And with that they were off to the next level. In his mind he was sure he just found his morning workout route and in her mind he could tell she wasn’t sure if he was trying to show off or if he was crazy.
