It had been several hours since the Paso Robles had entered the system. They were looking to head back to Overwatch Station, there Headquarters. Renato wanted the crew to get some rest before they set a course for home. He wanted to make sure that communications were restored before they left.

He sat in his ready room, going over his mission report, he was going to transmit to Commodore Elsie Coleman, his Commanding Officer. He heard the doors wish open, and in walked Rosa, what a lovely sight, he thought to himself. He smiled as she walked over to him.

“There you are.” Rosa said, with a warm loving smile. She knew he came here to hide from the crew, in order to get his work done.

“Sorry I missed Dinner.” Renato said, knowing she might be a little annoyed about that. It was his first mission, he wanted to make sure the report was accurate, and ready to go for the Commodore.

“Don’t worry, I brought home leftovers for you.” Rosa said, as she handed him a to go box. The aroma from the box was strong. At first Renato thought the smell was coming from her.

“What would I do without you?” Renato asked, as he took the box, and placed it on the table, then stood up to give her a big hug and a kiss.

“You would be forced to eat replicator rations, that’s what.” Rosa said, with a big teasing grin on her face.

“That would be treacherous. I assure you Rosa.” He said, with a straight face. The idea of it, was not very appealing to him.

“Don’t accept take home delivery night, Ren. I meant it. The crew needs to see their Captain in the mess hall.” Rosa pointed out him.

“Okay okay, I promise breakfast tomorrow, I’ll be in the mess hall.” Renato said, being sincere with his tone.

“Good, tomorrow is Waffles.” Rosa said, as the two continued to talk. The scene fades away.

Location: USS Paso Robles, Bridge

The Paso Robles was starting it s course to go back home when they received a distress call, run out to immediately looked over to his chief of security. “What do you have Mr Thorne?” He asked if he waited eagerly. He hoped they would be able to assist, but so far they haven’t been able to establish long-range communications. In the last 4 hours since their last mission had completed they managed to get short range communications back online they were able to communicate with more ships.

“”The SS Wolverine has sent out a distress call, Captain.” Jaxon informed him. “It is a Phoenix class Medical transport.” His eyes met the captain’s. “I have confirmed that it is adrift.”

“Are we detecting any life signs?” Renato asked as he pulled up the ship’s database, noticing that it had a crew of three and 20 injured personnel on board. According to the record it looked like they were trying to flee the area.

“No signs of life.” Thorne replied. He hoped his instruments were wrong or that the crew had somehow escaped. The other answer he didn’t even want to consider.

“There are 23 lives on that ship, number one I want you to prepare to wait till when we’re in range”

“Understood Captain. Thorne, Chen, and O’Connell you’ll be on my way team.” Mira called out in response. She wanted her operations officer to try to figure out the systems of the Wolverine. She needed her medical officer to confirm any deaths or casualties or injuries or what was going on over there and she also wanted security for this mission.

“With your permission.” Aria spoke up. “I will grab a medical kit and meet the team.” She wanted to be prepared.

“Yes ma’am.” Reeve spoke up. He was anxious to get over there and see what he could do to get the power back online.

“I’m ready.” Jaxon spoke up from the security console. He was hoping to find some of their crew.”

He needed to know the status of the wolverines crew, they were still a few minutes away from being in transporter range. Beyond getting the sensors up and running and communication through ministry store transporter capabilities too. “In the meantime Mister O’Connell does the Wolverine have power, life support?” Renato asked has he looked over to his chief operations officer and second officer.

Reeve did some diagnostics and looked up. “There is life support on the ship at present.” Reeve spoke up. “But it won’t last long, the ship is shutting down, losing power at a fast rate.”

“I need you to restore power when you go over on that awaiting, helm how long till we arrive?” Renato asked.

“Approximately 5 minutes captain, our engine is still being affected by the blackout even though we can navigate a little bit better it’s still throwing off our impulse wakes.” T’Shan called out from the helm.

“I’ll get right on it, Captain.” Reeve spoke up. “As soon as we get there.” He waited for the word from Mira to head out.

5 minutes passed by, and the USS Paso Robles was now entering within transporter range of the SS Wolverine. “Number one you’re up, get the power systems under control, we need answers.” Renato started to explain.

“We’ll get some answers, captain.” Mira said that she looked to her waiting. “The waiting to transporter room one.” She called out and she started walking towards the turbolift doors.
