Share in the adventures of Captain Monique McDowell & the crew USS Astute as the rapid response vessel, tasked with providing humanitarian relief missions and high priority engineering assignments, aids reconstruction efforts following the devastating Nightfall Incursion by the Vaadwaur Supremacy.
The price of conflict is peace.
Tasked with assisting the survivors of the Nightfall Incursion rebuild what was taken by the Vaadwaur, Task Force 72 has assigned the USS Astute to pioneer reconstruction and relief operations throughout the former Demilitarized Zone.
The assignment of an Echelon – class vessel to lead the Astute Light – Cruiser Division speaks volumes about the instability inherent to the region since the Vaadwaur withdrawal. Not only did the incursion come at a time when Starfleet was at its lowest ebb and tenuous allies such as the Cardassian Union already much weakened, the resultant power – vacuum requires a ship equally at ease in patrolling the frontier as it is providing humanitarian aid.
Never has the motto of the USS Astute been more pressing or relevant;
“Consilium et Prudentia”
(By Council and Prudence).
Formed in the wake of the Nightfall Incursion into the Alpha & Beta Quadrants by the forces of the Vaadwaur Supremacy, Task Force 72 assigned the Echelon – class Light Cruiser, USS Astute to head up a Rapid Reaction Division along with the Duderstadt – class Fast Cruiser, USS Speedwell.
Together the deployment of both vessels enable Fourth Fleet to maintain patrol duties along the former DMZ and aid in the recovery operations to the many worlds devastated by the Vaadwaur invaders via the USS Astute, whilst the more far – ranging USS Speedwell stands ready to investigate and seek out those in need within and without Federation – space, as Starfleet seeks to heal the lasting wounds of conflict.
