Constructed at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and commissioned in 2369, the Thunderchild has served Starfleet for over three decades. A 2397–2398 refit enhanced its sensor arrays, tactical systems, and Valkyrie fighter bays, equipping it for extended operations in unaligned regions.

Assigned to the Fourth Fleet’s Task Force 47 , the Thunderchild operates from Deep Space 47 under Captain Rynar Jast, spearheading tactical and intelligence operations in the Thomar Expanse. Tasked with securing strategic pathways and gathering critical intelligence, the ship navigates complex geopolitical landscapes, engaging local powers to ensure safe access for Starfleet’s broader objectives. Its advanced systems and skilled crew make it a vital component of Task Force 47’s mission to establish a secure foothold in the uncharted frontier.

Dedication Plaque

Aegis Squadron is the Thunderchild’s primary space superiority unit, comprised of twelve Valkyrie-Class fighters, and one Aspara-class bomber. Upgraded during the ship’s 2397–2398 refit, the squadron was named for the legendary shield of Zeus and Athena, symbolizing their role as both spear and shield for the Akira-Class Heavy Cruiser.
